The Nike Air Max Plus TN ‘Black Blue’ (2020) represents a bold evolution of one of Nike’s most recognisable silhouettes, originally designed by Sean McDowell in 1998. Known for its distinctive “Tuned Air” cushioning system and aggressive, wave-inspired design language, the Air Max Plus continues to sit at the intersection of performance heritage and streetwear culture. The ‘Black Blue’ colourway refines this legacy with a sleek, high-contrast palette that enhances the model’s sculpted TPU cage and dynamic profile, making it a standout option for both collectors and everyday wearers.
Overview
Built on the foundation of Nike’s Tuned Air technology, the Air Max Plus TN delivers targeted cushioning designed to provide responsive comfort and stability underfoot. The upper typically features lightweight mesh construction reinforced with supportive overlays, ensuring breathability while maintaining structure. The iconic gradient-inspired aesthetic is complemented by signature TN branding details, reinforcing its identity within Nike’s Air Max lineage. The ‘Black Blue’ execution elevates versatility, allowing the sneaker to transition seamlessly from lifestyle styling to daily rotation wear. Its aggressive midsole tooling and visible Air units further reinforce its performance-driven DNA while maintaining its street-ready appeal.
