The Nike Kobe 4 Protro 'CHBL' (2024) celebrates the legacy of Kobe Bryant with a colorway that reflects the ethos of hard work, dedication, and style rooted in Chinese heritage. The “CHBL” moniker stands for the China Basketball League, honoring Kobe’s global impact on the sport and his long-standing relationship with Chinese basketball culture. This Protro (Performance Retro) edition updates the original Kobe 4 silhouette with modern enhancements while preserving the aesthetic that helped redefine low-top basketball shoes.
Overview
The Kobe 4 Protro 'CHBL' features a bold and refined design, anchored in a palette of black, metallic gold, and crimson red. The upper combines synthetic leather and textile mesh, delivering both structure and breathability for on-court performance. Metallic gold accents shine through the Swoosh, heel counter, and tongue, offering a regal contrast to the black base, while crimson hits on the outsole and inner lining bring energetic visual balance. A Phylon midsole houses a Zoom Air unit in the heel for responsive cushioning, staying true to the Protro mission of updating classic silhouettes for today’s athletes. The sneaker also features Kobe’s signature on the heel and the sheath logo on the tongue, nodding to his enduring influence both in China and around the world.
Key Highlights

• Modern Protro Performance Enhancements: Features updated cushioning and support via a Zoom Air heel unit and Phylon midsole, elevating comfort for both play and casual wear.
