Nike continues its legacy of elite performance basketball footwear with the Nike Kobe 9 EM Low Protro TB ‘University Red’ (2025), a cutting‑edge reimagining of Kobe Bryant’s influential ninth signature model. Anchored in the bold “Team Bank” colorway line and poised for an October/November 2025 drop, this sneaker merges striking court‑ready aesthetics with modern Protro updates designed for today’s competitive player.
Overview
The Nike Kobe 9 EM Low Protro TB ‘University Red’ is defined by its intense University Red engineered mesh upper that envelops the shoe in a bold, team‑oriented hue, contrasted with crisp white accents on the midsole, Swoosh logos, and Kobe Bryant’s signature branding. The engineered mesh construction maximizes breathability and flexibility, essential for quick cuts and changes of direction. Underfoot, a responsive React foam midsole with a speckled finish delivers plush yet connected cushioning, while a low‑cut silhouette supports agility and court control. Subtle black detailing on the heel and outsole anchors the design, adding depth to the vibrant colorway. Officially releasing as part of Nike Basketball’s Fall 2025 lineup, this version of the Kobe 9 fuses heritage and modern performance.
Key Highlights
• Iconic University Red Team Bank Colorway: Striking all‑red upper with white accents and speckled midsole for bold, team‑ready style.
• Engineered Mesh Upper: Lightweight, breathable construction enhances flexibility and airflow for sustained performance.
• React Foam Cushioning: Drop‑in React foam midsole offers responsive, plush comfort while maintaining court feel.
