Following the cultural phenomenon of the MoonSwatch, Swatch joined forces with Audemars Piguet for Royal Pop — a collection of eight Swiss-made Bioceramic pocket watches that reimagine the legendary Royal Oak, released on 16 May 2026 with strict one-per-person purchase limits. The Ocho Negro, reference SSX03W101N, is the all-black expression of the set — its name, Spanish for "black eight", a direct nod to the eight hexagonal screws that define the Royal Oak bezel.

The 40mm case, just 8.4mm thick, is crafted from Swatch's signature Bioceramic — a lightweight blend of ceramic and bio-sourced material — and carries unmistakable Royal Oak DNA: the octagonal bezel with eight hexagonal screws, vertical satin finishing across the bezel and case back, a Petite Tapisserie dial and Royal Oak-style hands, all executed in brooding monochrome black. As a Lépine-configuration pocket watch, the crown sits at twelve o'clock with a clean hours-and-minutes display. Inside beats a hand-wound version of Swatch's Sistem51 movement, engineered without a central screw and incorporating 15 active patents, a Nivachron anti-magnetic balance spring co-developed with Audemars Piguet, and a 90-hour power reserve.
